Accommodation For Tourists In The UK

Is a visit to the UK on your travel agenda this year? The UK is a rich source of history and culture and offer all sorts of attractions. There are also many accommodation options to choose from:

Chain Hotels - Pretty much all of the big hotel chains (Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, etc.) have establishments in the UK. You will find these types of hotels in most of the UK's major cities. In fact, London even has multiple hotels from the same company. This is the most expensive type of accommodation but you get what you pay for. You can expect to be have to pay at least $100 per night.

Independent Hotels - These are one-off establishments that range from five star luxury to one star bare-bones. They can be found in most cities and towns, even relatively small ones that are not known for attracting many tourists. They can provide great value for money but they do represent a bit of a gamble as the cleanliness and service provided all comes down to the individual standards of the owners. Price-wise, they range from $40 to $100-plus.

Hostels - A firm favorite with young people especially, hostels are ideal for those traveling to the UK on a budget. You basically just get a bed in a shared room, and you should not expect much, if anything, more than that. They are not that common outside of London, but with a little bit of research you should also be able to find one in other major cities too. Prices vary, but the average is around $20 a night.

Bed And Breakfasts - Are a bit of a UK tradition. They are very popular with citizens of the UK who decide to stay in the UK for their own vacations. Typical UK bed and breakfasts are large homes that rent out rooms to tourists. The services offered are personal and your hosts will normally go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and feel at home. Breakfast is almost always part of the cost of your room which can range in price from $20 to $50 per night.

It is easy to book a room in the UK online. Even smaller places often have websites, and if they do not, you can usually find them on websites that advertise numerous accommodation at once. Whichever way you look, you should be able to book your accommodation in less than half an hour.
