B and B Inns of the Page, Arizona/Lake Powell Area
Glen Canyon Dam is on the Colorado River. At the time of its construction in 1957, Manson Mesa was part of the Navajo Nation Reservation where the workers building the Dam lived. In 1958, the United States government traded 24 square miles in Utah for Manson Mesa along with some surrounding land. This event signified the birth of the City of Page AZ, the most remote community in the Continental United States. Remote as it is, Page gets a lot of visitors, though. A popular stop of the visitors is one of three fabulous bed and breakfast inns.
After the Glen Canyon Dam was completed, the resulting Lake Powell ultimately became the destination for an average of 3 million visitors a year. Many of those vacationers spend time in Page, Arizona. The city of Page is home to approximately 9,100 residents making it just large enough to have plenty of community resources, but not so large that it loses its small-town appeal. The people of Page are an assortment of talented and engaging personalities.
