Explore Germany’s Beer Gardens with Holidays to Berlin
Berlin and beer go hand in hand. Germany's highly publicised Oktoberfest (which takes places in Munich every year) draws many visitors to the country each and every year, with fans dressing up in typical German clothes, parading the streets of the city. As far as holidays are concerned, Berlin is a very popular place to visit.
For the quiet drink option, Fischerhtte am Schlachtensee lies on the banks of one of Germany's most beautiful lakes, so you can head there in the evening and watch the sun go down with a beer in your hand. Golgatha is also perfect for a quiet drink if you go in the daytime; it is set in a lush green area that will make you forget you are in a busy capital.
The venue opens every day at 10am, so it's ideal if you need caffeine fix to kick start your day. There is also free wi-fi, making it a cracking place to get on with some work in the morning sun.
Come 6:30pm Golgatha will suddenly be packed with after-work drinkers - especially on a warm, sunny day when people are desperate to get out of work and out in the fresh air with a beer. To avoid the 7pm bar queues simply head upstairs to the roof terrace where it tends to be a little quieter, although once darkness falls the place becomes a night-club with a DJ, dance floor and cocktails.
You should try and find the time to visit Golgatha during your time in Berlin. Cheap holidays are very feasible, especially if you're just going from beer garden to beer garden! So, if you're in doubt about where to go on your next holiday in Europe, choose Berlin and you will not be disappointed.
