Attractions For Visitors During St. Lucia Holidays

St. Lucia Island is popular for its mineral baths, beautiful clean beaches, bays and banana plantations. The island, because of its stunning beauty, attracts tourists and visitors from all around the world. From well-developed hotels, resorts, shopping malls and taverns to well-reserved nature spots and natural resources, St. Lucia holidays offer many attractions for the tourists and visitors.

The Pitons is an attraction that people from all around the world come to see. The famous two majestic peaks in the area are Gros Piton and Petit Piton. These are two twin volcanoes. They are not active and are completely covered with lush green plants and vegetations. Climbing the pitons is a common activity for the visitors and tourists that come for St. Lucia holidays.

St. Lucia holidays are more or less incomplete unless its bays and beaches are visited as they are famous worldwide. One such bay is the Marigot Bay, situated in the south of Castries. The natural beauty of this bay, with exotic palm trees, makes it a wonderful attraction. This bay is arguably the most stunning beach in the Caribbean. If one goes on St. Lucia holidays, it is almost criminal not to visit this beach.

Another beach near Castries that is also quite well-known is the Rodney Bay. It is a man-made lagoon and is quite famous for its taverns, resorts, hotels, and nightlife. People also visit it for its famous water sports and activities.

Castries, the capital of St. Lucia, might appear dull to some but that is only because the city has a history of several fires and similar disasters. However, despite the less than stunning architecture, Castries has great public markets that offer handicrafts, a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and other goodies that truly make it a treat on the St. Lucia Holidays.

St. Lucia also boasts of the only volcano in the world that one can drive through. Known as Mount Soufriere, one drives through the volcano in a zigzag forested road. On the road, there are areas and observation points from which one can look more closely at the whispering steam and sulphur springs.

The St. Lucia holidays are incomplete unless one pays a visit to the Diamond Botanical Gardens, which also contain the popular Diamond Mineral Baths. This kind ecological beauty is what the Caribbean islands are famous for. Another breathtaking site in the gardens is the Diamond Waterfall that is known to change its colours many times during the day.

There are many beautiful places of exotic splendour in St. Lucia. It also has several view locations, one of them being Fond St-Jacques.

The northern shore of the islands has a lot to offer to the adventurous tourists who like to explore. Known as Grand Anse, this part of the island is hardly developed, with more natural reserves and sites, which are naturally not dense with population. Instead, one can find several kinds of birds and animals here that are hard to find elsewhere, such as dangerous snakes, the green sea turtles, leatherback, loggerhead and hawksbill. Maria Islands Nature Reserve and Fregate Islands Nature Reserve are other two popular natural reserve sites. There are only a few islands in Caribbean that offer turtle watching and bird watching.
